About Milestone

Welcome! I’m Tiffaney Mills. I’m a Black woman, Mother, social worker, entrepreneur, and Maryland native. I earned my MSW from Howard University and am clinically licensed in Maryland and North Carolina. For me, my social work practice is an act of deep love, care and respect for people. As we’ve watched our world advance over the years, we’ve also witnessed the complexities of the human experience deepen and grow.

It is with these changes that we are painfully learning that our abilities to manage, cope with, and change our own lives are constantly being pushed, challenged and stretched. In my practice I utilize acceptance based strategies to help people face and accept the realities of life as they are, not how we hope or think they should be. I balance this with empowering you to identify true areas of actionable change and provide skills, resources, and support to make those changes a reality. My formal training is in DBT/C-DBT, Trauma-Informed CBT, ACT, Perinatal Mental Health, and Mindfulness. My work requires a collaborative process that mimics the full human experience in that it is both hard and beautiful, challenging and worth it. I’ve personally experienced the fullness of what life offers and enjoy and delight in the work of helping people learn how to become less reactive to their own experiences and create a values driven life.

I work with all persons but take special interest in working with Black and other minority communities, perinatal populations, and complex trauma. In my practice I work with adults in individual and group formats to provide high quality, inclusive services to those who also realize they need and deserve a place just for them. A place for self.
